When I go on city-trips I like to bring my sketching-pad along, to make little drawings of what I find interesting. This is a corner of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. The bridge itself was constructed in 1345 and in 1565 the secret Corridoio Vasariano was added on top of the east side of the bridge. Built for Cosimo I de’ Medici, this secret corridor connects de Palazzo Pitti with the Palazzo Vecchio on the other side of the river Arno.Nowadays the corridor houses a beautiful art collection which is only sporadically open to the public.
